The Just for Parents booklets were created by the State Board of Education in October 2005 and revised in July 2008 to help parents understand the academic expectations that have been established for their children and the ways they can help their children achieve those expectations.
Students participate in the Kansas State Assessments at grades three, four, five, six, seven, eight, ten and eleven. Therefore, a Just for Parents booklet was created for each of those grades, outlining the things students are expected to know and be able to do in the subjects assessed at those grade levels.
