2016 Teacher Appreciation Week Graphic

Dear Kansas Teacher:

In the spirit of Teacher Appreciation Week, we take this time to extend our heartfelt thanks for the extraordinary work you do to make Kansas schools great and Kansas students successful.

You are a real-life superhero. Every day you walk into the classroom ready to inspire young minds beyond what they believe is possible. You maintain a laser focus on the individual needs of each student. You handle the unexpected with ease, never letting on to the hours of worry it can cost you. You are the voice of that child who needs a real-life superhero protecting his or her future. You are the impact that extends far beyond the boundaries of the classroom.

Because of you, Kansas is among the nation’s leaders in graduation rates and continues to outscore national averages on the ACT and SAT college entrance exams. Because of you, more students are better prepared for future success through early exploration of careers and technical pathways they never knew existed. And, because of you, Kansas will lead the world in the success of each student.

Thank you for making Kansas great.

Sincerely,

Dr. Randy Watson, Kansas Commissioner of Education photo and Signature block
